Two early New York soul classics courtesy of Texas born Johnny Nash. The top-side “Ol’ Man River” is a stunning soulful rework of the show tune standard. The flip-side is the much-overlooked “I Lost My Baby” from the earlier ABC-Paramount recordings. It dates from 1961 but sounds much later and is one of his most sought-after 45s.
