MITCH RYDER and his Detroit Wheels are forever remembered on the UK Northern Soul scene for their two cherished dance floor classics “Breakout” and “You Get Your Kicks” which have remained popular since their debut at Manchester’s Twisted Wheel Club in the late sixties. Both tracks can also be found on their iconic 1966 LP Breakout… !!!
Mitch was born William Levise and it was while performing in Detroit with his group Billy Lee & The Rivieras that he met producer Bob Crewe who signed the group to his DynoVoice stable renaming them Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels.
